2019 Trivia

Steve Bragg's Hoosier Daddy made the championship bracket the first eleven years of the league's existence, from 2006 thru 2016.  Len Minicozzi's MOnanimous42 franchise holds the current active streak of eight consecutive seasons (2012-18 as Hogan's Heroes, and 2019 as
MOnanimous42).

Hoosier Daddy trophied for nine consecutive seasons (3 firsts, 2 seconds,
4 thirds) from 2007 thru 2015.  Gulf Coast Thunder holds the current streak, at 2 consecutive seasons.

Eleven of the twelve franchises have won at least one 1st, 2nd or 3rd-place
virtual trophy. Only Toms Vikings are trophy-less.

In March of 2018, Tyler Randall snatched the unofficial title of "Most
Fickle Team Owner" from Jim "Jimmy" Gearhart, by changing his
franchise's name for the seventh time over the course of the league's
thirteen seasons.  Gearhart's teams went by six different names
(dwight frye killers, killer coops, Billion Dollar Babys,Public Animal #9,
Vengence is mine!,and Under my wheels) during his eight seasons
of ownership.  Randall's names have ranged from the iconic (Amazonia
Tapers, Tapers Strike Back!, Pantanal Tapirs, and Tefe Tapirs), to the
sinister (The Black Widow), to the out and out theft of intellectual
property (Public Animal #9 and Billion Dollar Babies).

Only Hoosier Daddy, Millennium Zips and Toms Vikings have kept the same names they ended the inaugural 2006 season with.

Only 6 times has a team finished the regular season over .500 but failed to make the championship bracket:  Hogan's Heroes (.513 winning percentage) and Work Place Violence (.518) in 2011,  Tefe Tapirs (.515) in 2012, Millennium Zips twice (.503) in 2015, and (.514) in 2018, and Hoosier Daddy (.532) in 2017.

It only seems like Toms Vikings has had the first draft pick every year.  In truth, the Vikings have drafted first only 6 times, second 3 times, and third 2 times.  2018 marked the best regular-season finish the franchise has ever had (8th).  Their 2018 Consolation playoff finish of ninth tied for the franchise's best postseason mark with four other seasons.

Most transactions in one season: 242 in 2006 by Conseco's Palmeiros.  Second most transactions occurred the next season, 2007, by Tapirs Strike Back!, with 160 moves.  Since transaction limits were set at a maximum of seven per week in 2010, the most moves made in a season is 117 by Millennium Zips in 2017.

Thru 2019, five of the fourteen league championships were won by the #1 seed, three championships were won by the #2 seed, three were won by the #4 seed, and three were won by the 6th seed.

Of the 27 regular-season first-place finishers, 5 have failed to win a virtual trophy in the playoffs:  Tefe Tapirs in 2010 (#1 seed), MusicCityMadness three times, in 2011 (#1 seed) and again in 2013 and 2017, and Millennium Zips in 2014 (#1 seed).

Two defending champions failed to qualify for the Championship bracket;
Millennium Zips in 2013, and Motown Molesters in 2015.

Not counting the inaugural 2006 season, only two franchises under new ownership have qualified for the Championship bracket (Photonic BoSoxs, 2009, and MOnanimous42, 2019).

Dems some mighty fine statistics Georgie! I'm excited to have finally overtaken Jimmy for most names. Fitting that it's one I stoke/borrowed from him.
