2019-20 OFF-SEASON TRADING!
or
"Am I The Hunter...
Or The Hunted?"
WHAT IS IT?
An off-season trading period, beginning on November 1st,
2019, and ending at 11:59pm Saturday, February 29th, 2020!
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
All League of Coater Flunkies franchise owners.
WHICH PLAYERS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR TRADE?
You may trade any player or players that appear on your 2019 Final
Rosters, as posted elsewhere on this blog. This includes any players listed as
"DL" or "NA". Rosters will be updated as off-season tranactions become
official.
DO THE PLAYERS I RECEIVE IN AN OFF-SEASON TRADE HAVE TO APPEAR
ON MY 2020 KEEPER LIST?
No. Any players you receive during the off-season trading period are
placed on your updated roster. Your eight keepers can be any eight
from that roster, irregardless of where they came from.
CAN THE SAME PLAYER BE NAMED IN MORE
THAN ONE TRADE PROPOSAL AT THE SAME TIME?
No! Once a particular player has been named in a posted trade proposal,
he is ineligible to be included in another proposal until the outstanding
proposal has been approved or vetoed by the league members.
he is ineligible to be included in another proposal until the outstanding
proposal has been approved or vetoed by the league members.
You can trade any number of players for any number of players. The
only requirement is that the players traded must appear on the
rosters of the teams involved in the trade.
YES! Individual draft picks may be swapped as part of a
player trade, and can only be swapped for an equal number
of draft picks. If, as part of a trade, you include, say, your
9th round pick, you MUST receive one of your trade partner's
picks. For Yahoo! purposes, our eight keepers are considered
our 1 thru 8 draft picks each March. During the general draft,
we pick rounds 9 thru 24, which means we draft 16 players
from the free agent pool to go along with our eight keepers.
Each team must maintain 16 draft picks. It doesn't matter how
many picks you have in any given round, only that everyone
maintains 16 picks total for the general draft. Draft picks
can only be swapped as part of a player trade; They cannot
be traded by themselves! Trades proposals may include
multiple draft choices, as long as each team maintains 16 picks.
HOW MANY TEAMS CAN BE INVOLVED IN A TRADE?
During the Yahoo! season, multi-team trades are not allowed.
During our off-season trading period, however, any number
of teams may be involved in a proposed trade.
HOW DO I MAKE A TRADE?
Once you've found a willing trade partner or partners, each owner
involved in the proposed trade MUST send an email to the
commissioner at geomst3kfreak@hotmail.com or
geomst3kfreak@yahoo.com outlining the exact trade specifics.
If the info from the owners involved match, I will post the proposed
trade on this blog page, as well as sending each league member an
email notifying them of the proposed transaction.
SO I CAN TOTALLY SCREW MY TEAM UP ALL BY MYSELF
BEFORE THE SEASON EVEN BEGINS?
Not necessarily! Just like the regular season, all proposed
trades are subject to veto by the other league members.
You may even vote to veto your own trade, if you've had a
change of heart!
Once a proposed transaction is emailed to the league
members, they will be given a deadline of 72 hours to veto
the proposal. This veto must be in the form of an email
to the commissioner. Four vetos cancel any proposal.
The identities of those casting veto votes will be known
only by the commissioner, and will not be made public.
If the 72 hour deadline is reached and the proposal has not
been vetoed, it becomes an official trade, and the rosters
will be updated by the commissioner.
WHAT IF A TRADE LEAVES ME WITH MORE THAN 24 PLAYERS?
It doesn't matter. You can only keep eight of them at
the keeper deadline in March!
WHAT IF A TRADE IS PROPOSED, AND I DON'T KNOW ABOUT IT
BECAUSE I DON'T CHECK MY EMAIL?
That would come under the "tough titties" clause! I can't force
anyone to read my emails! Nor do you have to read them in the
off-season, if you choose not to! Everyone will be notified of any
proposed transactions, and will have 72 hours to cast a veto
vote. Always make sure the commissioner has your current
and/or active email address.
That's ALL there is to it, guys! If you're confused about the draft
pick thing, drop me a line. I'll try to clarify it on the blog!
